What?!?!? You may be wondering what "triple the triplets" means. I do love a play on words, but this is just as it sounds - THREE set of triplets!
The other triplet moms and I are friends and communicate on Facebook and through text every now and then. We all got together during the spring of 2014 to do the March for Babies walk with the March of Dimes - remember this? But we hadn't all gotten together since then. Callie and her family live in Columbia but were coming up to Greenville to see some family so we all decided to get together and take the kids to the zoo. You should have seen the looks on people's faces when they saw us! It was like a triplet train coming through!
At the entrance to the zoo. This picture is funny because it represents the three major methods of transportation for triplets: the choo choo wagon (what my boys are in), the Valco double stroller with Joey seat (for the Welsh triplets) and the triple Radio Flyer wagon (for the Brigham triplets). This was the perfect photo opp before we got too hot and sweaty!

Laurel brought two of her daughters with her to the zoo. Here's Laurel's daughter, Savannah, and husband, Chris and her trio - Addison (in front), Jace, and Christopher (although you can't see him)!

About halfway through there was a mist station. Let me tell you, we were glad to see it! It was a hot day!!!! The kids had so much fun walking through the misters. Eventually they found the spout where the mist was coming from and just start going directly for the water.

This was the lion's den. All the kids wanted to stand up and look at the lions through the glass. It was chaotic, but lots of fun!

Then we got Ryan out the wagon and let him stand up next to this brothers (with just a little help from his Da-da).
Side note: this area of the zoo is pretty popular with the giraffes and the lions right near each other. People gathered there got a big kick out of seeing all of our kiddos together! We were the "circus" at the zoo. :) I was having such a good time seeing the boys interact and taking picture of all the cuties and we just walked off and left my diaper bag sitting there in the lion's den. Luckily, some kind lady came running out after us to see if it belonged to anyone in our group. Thank goodness! I would have been in big trouble if it wasn't recovered! I was joking around with the lady that I just had too many kids and forget stuff everywhere...which isn't totally true....hahaha....but it was kind of hectic with my camera, all the sippy cups, keeping up with their sunglasses, getting kids in and out of the wagon, etc, etc. I am so thankful that sweet and good Samaritan helped me out! :)

William loves to wave and he was waving and telling all the animals "bye bye" each time we'd move on to another exhibit.
Stokes - well, he wanted to be out of the wagon and on his own. And probably going in the opposite direction as everyone else.
Fish, fish, he got his wish. This was another misting area and he was having a blast playing in it!

The Welsh family - Christopher, Savannah, Addison, Chris, Laurel, Jace and Cam. As if their family isn't big enough, Laurel also has another older daughter! Kudos to her for remaining so sane and for being a great mom to all 6 of her kids!
Petting area of the zoo - chickens, goats and pigs, and lots of germs. Yuck. And Stokes was scarfing down some snacks during this part. Isn't that awesome (insert sarcasm)?

That concludes our trip to the zoo with 9 triplets. Whew! We were all hot and sweaty by the time we made it to the exit but everyone had a smile on their face. We talked in generalities about how we should do it again...possibly make a day trip down to Columbia or just get together more often. Hopefully you'll see some more #triplethetriplets posts in the future.
