CFA Play date

The boys have several "best friends" in their class, but Solomon has been consistently in the upper echelon of friendships for William, in particular. William basically begged me to set up a play date but I didn't really know his mom and we aren't there at pick up and drop off at the same time. When I finally saw Solomon's mom at a pick up one day, I mentioned it to her and told her I'd connect on Facebook to set something up. Well, the problem then was that I couldn't find her on Facebook. She even mentioned that she wasn't on much...and my search was turning up nothing. Then I found a random text where I'd RSVPed to Solomon's birthday party in the past...yes, this was along the lines of stalking...but a mom's got to do what a mom's got to do...and we were able to make plans! Our first play date was going to be a Sunday afternoon park play date (weather permitting) but William ended up getting an unexplained fever so I had to cancel to prevent passing along any sort of illness. We were able to reschedule for a Friday night Chick Fil A date.

When we got there, the boys were so incredibly excited they almost couldn't take it. They couldn't stop talking or sit still or eat much. Between all the burping, laughing, calling each other "old grandma" and carrying on, we couldn't hear ourselves think! Charity and I tried to make them eat a little before they could play but eventually there was no use. The excitement of a play date with Solomon and his brother, Nathan, was just too much! We let them all go into the playground and {finally} got to just talk and get to know each other better. The boys played and played and played. They all got along really well and did not want the play date to end! They were asking if Solomon could come home with us after CFA. Being that it was getting late at that point, I had to decline, but I have a feeling that there will be more play dates in our futures. They are such a sweet family!

Aunt Wendy's 2019 Easter Egg Hunt

Aunt Wendy once again hosted her epic annual Easter Egg Hunt! This year she hosted it at her house so we had a new setting and some new babies this year to keep it super awesome. I absolutely love this event and look forward to it every year. Each year I offer to help - bring food, bring eggs, stuff eggs, do something...anything - and each year Wendy just tells me to show up! She goes all out and as always; she is the hostess with the mostest.

Per my last post, I love matchy - matchy so I had the boys wear these cute combo of a pink Loggerhead shirt and yellow linen shorts. They looked adorable!

Ryan doesn't look too happy, but he was! I can never
catch them all smiling!

Stokes insisted that we go to the front porch for a pic.
Fail.
It was super sunny!

Thomas was out of town with his friends enjoying a guy's golf weekend, and luckily MaSha was able to spend the weekend with us and came to the Egg Hunt with us, too. She pretty much stayed in charge of Ryan while I was running around taking pictures, checking in with the boys and socializing.

Love those pink shades, Stokes!

After the egg hunt, we got plates from the most delicious spread of food, and found room on Wendy's front porch to just sit and swing and relax. The weather could not have been any better.

Wendy's new nephew, Miller, was just about a month old. I was so happy that he was there and I got to meet him for the first time. He was absolutely precious! I got to hold him and it reminded me of having tiny babies so long ago.

His outfit was too cute!!!

Lakely...such a doll.
She is the cutest little thing!

The boys loved Miller

Stokes even got to hold him!

Meg was so kind to let the boys hold Miller. They were
obsessed with him. This may have been their favorite part of the
whole day. They kept talking about it!

Ryan was so comfy and just started snoozing on MaSha

Wendy, if you're reading this, thank you! It was such a wonderful afternoon. We always love this egg hunt and you always go above and beyond. I'm so glad that spring was showing out and your house looked fantastic! Everything was charming and pure perfection!

Twinning with Ryan

I'm sure by now you all know that I'm a fan of dressing alike. My boys definitely do not dress alike every day, but if there's is a special occasion, holiday or a guaranteed photo opp, they're most likely wearing the same thing. I have to take advantage of it while I can because I do realize that they will be much more opinionated about what they'll wear at some point. Right now, we still have control...usually.

I got ready one morning a few weeks ago and came downstairs and began doing my typical morning routine with Ryan. When I was getting him dressed I had a realization that he had the same outfit that I was currently wearing. I could NOT resist! And for the record, Thomas has a Loggerhead shirt that is the same as the boys and he's been able to match them all before, which I also think is super cute.

Here is my twinning moment with my sweet baby Ryan!

Camo pants and a black shirt :)

What's so funny?!?!

Seizure activity

It had been almost a year and a half but Ryan had a few more seizures recently. He had one at home on Feb. 17 and then another one at school on March 26. After the February seizure, when I spoke to Ryan's neurologist, he didn't want to make any changes to meds but wanted me to reach back out if we noticed more seizures. Ryan was fine until late March when he had another seizure at school. At that point it was determined that we needed to up his dosage of one of his anti-seizure medicines.

These seizures presented differently than his past seizures. With these seizures, he was clinching his hands into fists and arching his back.  His legs were stick straight. It was kind of scary and it was very clearly a seizure, whereas his seizures in the past were not as obvious.

Everything has been fine since we've increased his meds and we're on a new seizure-free day count. Today is 16 days seizure-free.

St. Patrick's Weekend 2019

St. Patrick's Day was on a Sunday this year, which was cool because we had an entire weekend to celebrate it! I put the boys in GREEN for school for Friday...

At least 2 are smiling...

Saturday morning breakfast started off with GREEN food! We had green eggs and green milk.

Then we got dressed in green! This includes the awesome leprechaun hats. ;)

Silly little leprechauns

Then I forced them to do our annual 3 leaf clover picture. I just love it.

For Saturday afternoon we went downtown for a big St. Patrick's Day festival with some friends. There was cotton candy, green water fountains, beer (for adults) and sunshine. Lovely day.

Then we walked around downtown a little just to see what was going on. There were lots of people out and about!

Saturday night dinner consisted of corned beef sliders and sauteed cabbage (and Guiness, for adults). Yum!

Irish food

On Sunday morning, we had more green milk and we had green pancakes for breakfast! Then we went to church and had a relaxing afternoon at home.

William really loved the hat!
Sunday night dinner was shepherd's pie, of course, with a side of broccoli...and green milk.

When Monday morning rolled around, I was glad not to have to put green food coloring in anything else. The boys were wondering why their milk wasn't green! ha!
