Our fabulous weekend

We had MaSha (MIL, pronounced Ma-Shay, aka Sharon but MaSha is her grandma name), Ashley (SIL) and Taylor and Anna (beautiful nieces) here staying with us. They all got here on Friday and Taylor, who is 9, came right in and immediately starting reading a book to the boys. It was the sweetest thing! Do I see a future teacher....??? ;)

This visit was the first time that Taylor and Anna met the boys since these guys have been on lockdown with no interaction with other kids. It was time for some holding and snuggles! The babies loved their older cousins!

The next day we participated in the annual March for Babies, which is a walk put on by the March of Dimes. We were actually kind of on two different teams. One of my friends who is a fellow triplet mom and Clemson fan, Laurel, set up a team called Tiger Triplets for a Cause and invited us to be on her team. She had shirts made and everything! We agreed and were excited about one of our first outdoor events where we would bring the triplets. Then the company Thomas works for (and my former employer) asked if their team could walk in honor of our family. How cool is that?!?!? We were touched and of course agreed. So although we weren't technically on their team, we were kind of on both teams. Laurel and the triplet team also recruited another Clemson triplet mom, Callie, who drove up from the Columbia area with her family to walk with us. It was so great to meet her in person and to see my old work buddies that I hadn't seen in a long time.

We decided to use the double stroller and a single stroller that Ashley handed down to us which made the walk a lot easier. I was sweating just thinking about the idea of walking 3.5 miles with a 15 lb baby on my chest in my Ergo carrier.

The weather was perfect and the walk was so pretty. Everything went very smoothly! After the walk, we hung out for a while, fed the babies and took a lot of pictures. We all enjoyed the walk and experience and I hope to make it an annual event for the Peerys!

Later that afternoon, MaSha and I got flowers to decorate the front porch, which badly needed some attention. Thomas and Ashley and the girls stayed home to take care of the boys all afternoon. Here's another cousin/cousin picture!

The March for Babies was so enjoyable and awesome but one of the biggest highlights of the weekend for me was taking the babies to church for the first time on Sunday. We had to take advantage of the opportunity when we had an extra adult or 2 to help us and we wanted to do a trial run before the boys get baptized. I was nervous that it would be a total disaster, but the babies did great! They stayed quiet pretty much the whole time. I was so proud! I'm not as worried about the baptism service anymore. After church we took a few family pictures.

The weekend was great and Thomas and I both felt really good about successfully doing two big outings with the boys. Then the weekend was over and we started a new week...with some devastating news. I wanted to make sure to document this past weekend since it was so fun and special for us, but my mind and heart are on another matter. I'll write another blog post (hopefully soon) to fill y'all in on the news and give you any updates. I think it's fitting that TODAY is the National Day of Prayer and I want to ask each and every one of you to say a big prayer for our little Ryan. More later...
