Oktoberfest 2016

Over the weekend, we met some friends up in Walhalla to check out the annual Walhalla Oktoberfest festival for the very first time.

Walhalla Oktoberfest
If you follow this blog, you may remember my friend Bonnie that was in the hospital at the same time as me and our boys were all in the NICU together. Bonnie lives hear Walhalla, which is a little over an hour away, so we make an effort to get together at least a few times a year. It's getting harder to actually "catch up" and have any real conversation with kids running in every direction, but I really enjoy being around her and letting the boys play and get to know each other.

At Oktoberfest, we also go to meet Bonnie's sister and her two nephews, so we had an army of little boys and some worn out parents!

Oktoberfest was awesome. They had lots of food stations, plenty of rides for the kids, bands that were playing (both traditional German music as well as current country tunes) and we all had a great time! The boys were ummm...how do I word this...disappointed when we were done with all of our ride tickets. That was fun (NOT). We were able to distract them by going back to the music and letting them dance and run around on the stage. The day also consisted of a lot of potty visits but they did a great job avoiding accidents!

Can you tell it's fall, y'all!?!?

So hard to get a pic with everyone looking!

Window of opportunity = gone

We stopped on the way home and got BBQ for dinner. The boys loved it and asked for seconds of several things! We got home late and the boys were so sleepy. I think we may be back for Oktoberfest in the future!
