March of Dimes 2016

This past Saturday, we participated in the annual March of Dime walk called March for Babies. We walked 2 years ago (see 2014 post), but couldn't make it last year for some reason. We were so glad that we were able to join our team again and walk to help prevent premature births and birth defects!

Once again, my friend Laurel got the team together, helped make all the plans, designed and ordered our team t-shirts and did a good bit of fundraising. She's awesome. I'm the slacker that just shows up!

Our team is Tiger Triplets for a Cause and it consists of 3 Clemson families living here in South Carolina and we all have triplets that were born in 2013. We connected through our 2013 Triplet Mom Facebook group. Out of all 9 triplets, there is only one girl! How crazy is that?!?!?

Anyway, we got to the walk about 30 minutes early and found the rest of our team. We pretty much just hung out until the walk officially started. It had been a while since I had seen everyone else on the team, so it was really nice to get a hug and catch up (at least try to catch up a little while 9 toddlers are trying to run around and we're trying to keep an eye on each one!)

Look who we ran in to! It's Carly and the Long family! They have their own team, Long Party of 5. She does a fundraiser for their team each year, so I knew they were participating in the walk, but with so many people there, I didn't know that I would get to see them. It was a great surprise. :)

After the walk, we all packed up and went to the Mellow Mushroom for lunch (kids and all). We called ahead and got 2 tables for 18 of us in there. We pretty much took over a whole corner with orange. It was a lot of fun!

After we were done eating, while we were waiting for the bill, all the kids wanted to get up and play. I typically would not let my kids run around a restaurant, but there were all these other kids there and we tried to keep them {fairly} contained and out of the way of other diners and the servers.

They had so much fun going up and down and up and down and up and down on this mini staircase.

We were all exhausted after lunch, but it was such a fun morning and a great cause. We were talking about trying to get our families together again sometime to go to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, which I hear is great! We're looking forward to that visit and for the March for Babies in 2017.
