A trip to the farmers market, Clemson and Greece

This past Saturday, we were in town for the weekend and wanted to do some fun outings with the kids. We hit up downtown Greenville, Clemson and Greece - all in one day! Amazing!

We first went to the downtown Farmer's Market and walked around with our choo choo wagon. Both Stokes and William wanted to get out shortly after we arrived, but even when they weren't riding in it, we got lots of looks and comments from people at the market when they saw the wagon. We bought some fresh peaches and ice cream to snack on and ran into a few friends and had a great time. We need to start doing this more often on Saturdays when we're in town.

After we left the market, we ran into Experience Clemson. It's a visitors center and a small interactive virtual museum and is located in the ONE building downtown. I've wanted to go several times but it was always closed when I happened to be around. Finally we lucked out and it was open! They have a big stuffed tiger in the window so the boys were loving that. There is an RFID exhibit where you can stand in a certain spot and wave your hands to begin a presentation to learn about some people that have some sort of Clemson connection. There's also a Howard's Rock replica, which was the biggest hit. Behind the rock is a big screen that shows a loop of football players running down the hill and some of the hoopla and fanfare surrounding Clemson football games. William and Stokes recognized the Tigers immediately and were excited to hear the "Tiger Song" aka Tiger Rag. We got a family picture with the Rock.

This, my friends, is brain washing done right!!!

After our Experience Clemson visit, we went on down to the Greek festival. Our friend Anna was working at the festival but when we got there, she pretty much hung out with us the whole time. We had a similar experience last year at the Greek Festival! She loves the boys and is so good with them! They were all about her, too! They wanted her to hold them and they would give her hugs. She took us around and helped me watch the boys when Thomas went to get us food. We had gyros that were so good and got the boys a delicious Greek pizza. It was such a yummy lunch! There was a stage where the performances would take place, but in between the performances, the kids could get out there and run around and dance! There were some musicians playing traditional Greek music that the kids could dance to and Stokes and William had a blast! I took Ryan out there as well so he could stand up and dance a little with the other kids. We ended up running into some more friends at the Greek festival and time totally got away from us. It was close to nap time by the time we got back to our car and both Stokes and William fell asleep in their car seats before we even got to the interstate to get back home. It was so sweet and I love that they exerted so much energy that they were zonked out, but the falling asleep for a short car ride can be dangerous. Waking them up and trying to get the back down for a nap when we got home was, well, interesting. ;)

Sorry to be lame-o with the pictures, but I didn't take a single picture of our outing. The only picture we got was from the rock and it was taken with Thomas's phone. I'm bummed I didn't get pictures of the other fun stuff, but it was a great Saturday!
