The world is your oyster

I'm so far behind on my blog posts, y'all! I've been traveling for work 2 out of the last 4 weeks and now with the holiday mayhem, I can't get caught up. So I'm going to try to take us back a little while in an effort to not miss out on some fun stuff that we've been up to.

On the weekend of Nov 14 (yes, almost a month ago!! ha), Tara, Matt, Leece and Madison came up from Charleston and Joey came down from Virginia for a fun get together. Thomas wanted to do an oyster roast and we were so glad that some of our very favorites were able to come from out of town! Joey stayed here with us (unfortunately, Davis was sick and so he and Lisa couldn't come) and Tara, Matt and the girls stayed with MaSha. We also invited a few friends over for the oyster roast, and Clark and Steph were able to make it. They left Ava Lane at home with grandparents, so I was disappointed I didn't get to see her, but totally understand needing some adult time away from the baby!!

We spent the afternoon just hanging out and enjoying some cousin time. I actually didn't take a whole lot of pictures for some reason. The boys love being around their cousins and had so much fun playing. They all love the baby, Madison, and just have a great time running around after Leece! Leece especially wanted to play with William and she would run into the playroom and call out, "Willum! Willum!" - pronounced just like that - Will-um. So funny!

The boys surrounding Madison in her bouncy seat. We had
to keep reminding them to be "GENTLE" - they did great!

Everyone trickled in during the afternoon and we watched the Clemson/Syracuse football game and ate appetizers. The weather was perfect!

For the oyster roast, Thomas set up his steamer pot, and got a fire going in the fire pit. We have a projector and for the first time, used it to stream a football game online with our laptop and projected it up on a sheet that was hung from the deck. This worked pretty well! I pretty much left the oyster roast plans up to Thomas and let him and the guys get everything set up. Looking back on these pictures, I'm thinking I should have had a little hand in it to "pretty it up" a little. It's cracking me up to just see card tables and oysters. This is "man style". :)

Oyster Roast!

Dig in!

Upcoming posts include Thanksgiving, a Van Pelt meet up, a big Ryan update and whatever else we get into over the next week or 2. Stay tuned!
