Clemson Spring Game

The annual Orange and White spring football game happened on the most gorgeous Saturday, April 6. This is a game where the team is split into 2 groups and they just scrimmage each other for fun. It's not too serious, but it's a way to gauge the talent of the younger guys and a way for them to "show out" for the coaches and fans after having gone through spring practice. They try to show off the skills they've developed during the off-season and a nice way for guys that don't always get to take many snaps in a real game to play and have some fun on the field. In recent years, especially since Dabo has taken over the program and gotten us to a top tier of football programs, the game has taken on a new level of attendance. I think there were somewhere around 60,000 fans at the spring game. That is crazy! But true football fans have been missing the sport since January and were ready to see it again. Also, it's totally free and family friendly, so there's that!

We took the boys with us and left straight from tee ball to go to Clemson. We found somewhere to park downtown and tried to figure out where to eat lunch. Holy moly. Everything was super crowded. We had Ryan's wheelchair, which is pretty big, so it was challenging to find somewhere that we could maneuver through with the wheelchair and actually sit down and eat. We lucked out on a table at Study Hall. Clever name - ha!

After lunch we went straight to the stadium and met up with Team Wilkes, who hasn't been to Clemson in ages! I was so happy to see them and it definitely felt like a Tiger Town reunion with these guys. Thomas and I tailgated with them for years before we all had kids and stopped getting season tickets. We've really missed them at games and it made my day that they were there.

We were also able to meet up with some of our friends from preschool - the Halaszs and the Orubos! This is such a great (and cute!) group of kids.

Halftime was the ring ceremony when the team got their rings from the National Championship and College Football Playoff!

The kids took advantage of being able to "Run down the Hill" too! Once we let them go once, it was very hard to pull them away. There were quite a few trips up and down the hill for these wild guys!

After we left the game, we walked downtown to grab a bite to eat with the Wilkes family.

Bobby was so sweet to hold Stokes's hand

Interestingly enough, I never noticed the
Happy Birthday banner. LOL
It wasn't ours...

Fun day in God's Country. Guess what! The Tigers won ;)
