Compound Kids

The summer really just seemed to fly by. With our move during the spring and then all the stuff we've been doing around the house, not to mention all the travel, I blinked and the boys were five years old, summer was over and a new school year had begun.

The sad thing about being busy is missing out on impromptu gatherings. We had our "compound kids" + Matt Owings over for a Labor Day cookout and it was one of the first times we've been all together in a long, long time!

We all kind of realized that we didn't have plans so we decided to "not have plans" all together! We went to our pool for a while in the afternoon and then came back to our house to cookout and hang out.

After dinner, we put a movie on for the kids in the playroom and we played adult games (side note: if you've never played What Do You Meme?, you're missing out) until it got late...way later than we had planned on! It was a fun, easy night with great friends!

Happy Labor Day! I love 3 day weekends!!!!

In case you're wondering why we call them "compound kids", it's because we joke that we're going to buy land on a compound and all live together and the kids will grow up hanging out on the compound all together. I promise we're not a cult. Ha!
