Weight Check

On January 7th we had a scheduled weight check for Ryan at the pediatrician. We'd noticed a downward trend with his weight and wanted to keep a close eye on him. At his 15 month appointment, he weighed 19 lbs and some ounces (can't remember exact numbers) and he'd lost weight from his 12 month appointment (he weighed 20 lbs and some ounces then); we didn't put too much stock into it though because he was still on steroids at his 12 month appointment, which made him gain weight.  Then when we took him a few weeks ago for walking pneumonia, he weighed 18 lbs and some ounces - even less than he did at the 15 month appointment, which was not a good sign. I don't like to see his weight go down on two consecutive appointments that were spaced out by at least a month. So we made the appointment for him to come back in 2 weeks after the walking pneumonia appointment to check everything out and see how much he weighed.

Good news! He had gained weight! Walking pneumonia had decreased his appetite and once he got over that, he was eating much better and it showed. At his weight check appointment, he weighed 20 lbs, 1.5 oz. I was so very proud! The pediatrician was happy with what she saw.
