Success! A few weekends ago we went to the pool for this first time this year. We recruited help from MaSha so we could have 1 adult per little guy. This was pretty much imperative. Last year, Thomas and I could manage on our own, but not so much this year. Last year was more difficult from a logistical perspective - meaning, getting them all dressed, diapers changed, sunscreen applied, loaded in the car, unloaded at the pool and into floats. Once we got them in the floats, it was smooth sailing. They just hung out and kicked their legs. This year, it's easier logistically. We have more time throughout the day between naps and eating to be able to go, and it seems like it's faster to change their clothes and such. We can also just throw a snack and some sippy cups in the diaper bag whenever we're going anywhere. The problem this year is that they aren't quite as content to hang out in their floats. Stokes especially wanted to get out. And they're splashing around a lot more this year, which makes me nervous because they're not scared to get their faces close to the water. They have to be watched even more closely. They're technically not quite big enough for puddle jumpers (the label says they are for 30+ lbs), but I think I'll go ahead and invest this year. I think we'll still use them next year, too. Thank goodness MaSha was up for the challenge of the pool. Stay tuned for more pool adventures this year!
