The boys turned 3 this past Thursday and we had some fun planned for them. It was a really busy day, so I took a PTO day from work, and it's a good thing I did because it seemed like we were running around all day without any time to check email or do any actual "work"!
The morning started out with balloons!
Then we gave the boys their "special" birthday muffins with a candle in each one. We sang to them and they got to blow out their candles. The whole morning they talking about their birthday non-stop.
We dropped them off at school and put Ryan on the bus to his other school. I didn't want him to miss any therapy sessions, and he got some group OT, but wasn't in school long until I had to pick him up for a neurology appointment.
This was just a standard follow up appointment and as expected, he got a good report. The meds are still working as they're supposed to, Ryan's been pretty healthy and he's getting all the therapy that he should be getting. After leaving the neuro office, I got him to his other school (same as Stokes and William) just in time for naps.

I got to run home for a little while and prep for the weekend before it was time to go up to school again. Thomas took a half day off work and he and I both wanted to be there for the boys's school birthday party, which pretty much just consists of singing and eating cupcakes after nap time. Stokes and William have been in a class with a lot of birthdays since they started in June. There is usually at least one per week, so I think it has helped them grasp the concept of birthdays. Anyways, Ryan's little school party was at 2:30 and we had cookie cake for his class, per his teacher's request. I love the age of the kids in Ryan's class. They are just so darn sweet! We sang to Ryan and all the kids enjoyed the cookie cake. They were so funny trying to get our attention and just being cute!

The party for Stokes and William started at 3:00 so our next move was over to their classroom. We sang to them in there and their class got cupcakes with footballs on them. These kids had green icing and cake crumbles all over their faces. Too funny! Stokes and William were so proud to have us there. They were beaming.

Dig in! This was an egg-free cupcake that I had from home and the bakery was sweet enough to ice it just like the others so that he didn't have to feel left out! |

After all the birthday celebrations at school were complete, we took the boys up to Thomas's office. It was Anna's last week before she moves to the UK for grad school, so we wanted to make sure that we saw her before she left. As always the boys were so entertained by everyone at the office and had fun playing with all the logo "toys" and the stuffed Ruckus dogs they have around in there.

Once we had worn out our welcome at the office, we went back home to continue birthday festivities. We had BFD (breakfast for dinner) since it's the boys's favorite. They love pancakes!
Then they got to open some fun birthday cards from Abby that play songs when you open them.

One word: enthralled. |
MaSha came over to celebrate with us as well. She gave them her presents for them and they immediately took their new bikes from MaSha and helmets from Nana to try them out! They were so cute! It will take them a while to get the hang of the balance bikes but there's no doubt that they will have fun learning.

We eventually drug them back inside so that they could open a few more presents before baths and bedtime. By the end of the day, I think we were all worn out after a fun birthday!
Just for kicks, I read the blog post from their birthday last year, and it's crazy to me how much they've changed within the last year.
We had a little party for them on Saturday, so I'll be posting about that in the next day or so.
I can't get over how adorable they look on those bikes!!
