You may remember that our church burned down well over a year ago. Check out this post for a refresher. We've been worshiping in the gym (turned sanctuary) until our new building is complete. Construction is well underway and it's exciting to see the progress each time we drive by or on Sundays when we come for the service. The boys take a special interest in all the construction.
Back in early October, we got a special invitation. The church invited everyone to go sign the wall on the new building during this construction time. There are some old traditions relating to this and we were all encouraged to sign our name, write a blessing or a prayer, or write our favorite scripture, etc. Of course all the writing will be covered up, but it will be very cool to always know that our names and our prayers for the new church building will be there, written right on the wall, for as long as that building is around. And...knock on wood...we hope that's a very, very long time!
This is the best family pic I could get. Typical.

The scene! We could write on the green part of the wall. |
Stokes signed his name (with a smiley face) |
William signed his name right near ours. I wrote: May this place bless all who worship here and bring us all closer to God. GOD BLESS. |
