Halloween 2015 proved to be a lot of fun!
Last Halloween, the boys dressed up as bees, which I thought was really cute! I wasn't sure what to make them be this year and googled some fun ideas for triplets. There were such cute themes, but I gave Thomas a few options and made him choose the winner. And we went with....THREE BLIND MICE!
I liked it because I could tell it would be easy enough to DIY (do it yourself) instead of buying a costume, so I went with it. And I was glad that we would be able to incorporate the choo choo wagon. And in regards to the choo choo wagon, I remember using it last year, but only for Stokes and William. Ryan was unable to sit in the wagon on his own last Halloween. That was not an issue for our little fighter this year!
I found gray sweatsuits for the boys and got gray foam and pink felt to make the mouse ears and belly. The boys already had sunglasses, so we just had to give them a nose and whiskers and a walking stick and our costumes were done!

The festivities started on Friday with a trip up to Thomas's office for their annual Halloween festivities. Before we could go though, we had to get the boys dressed and ready!
I used eyeliner for their nose and whiskers. Stokes thought it was funny and was trying to rub Ryan's mouse nose off.
Layla was a huge help getting the boys ready to go!
Before we left, we did Halloween porch picture session #1. Layla and I tried our best to get the boys to sit still and look at the camera. Here's what we got (none are perfect!).
My little mice looked so adorable! They were good sports...at least in the beginning. Here they are loaded in the car, ready to go to Da-da's work.

MaSha met us at the office and we got the wagon ready to go! We had to tape the signs that read "Three Blind Mice" on the wagon and get the boys buckled in before we went in.

Thomas's office goes all out for Halloween each year. The different departments decorate their areas and a lot of people dress up. They have candy all throughout the building for the kids to trick-or-treat. It is so much fun to go up there and Halloween is my favorite day of the year at that office. The boys are always a big hit and have lots of friends that want to see them, hold them, and play with them.

Work fun was over so we took the boys back to the van, with the help of MaSha and Brenda |
After we left the office, we grabbed dinner at Paisano's with MaSha. The boys behaved pretty well and we enjoyed it!
In true procrastinator fashion, we hadn't carved our pumpkins yet as of Friday night, so after the boys went to bed, Thomas and I got to work on our jack-o-lanterns!
Finished product: a goofy smiley face and a P for Peery :)
Saturday was Halloween! We had a fairly uneventful day - Thomas did yard work, I went grocery shopping - but we were ready for the evening fun. We fed the boys their dinner early, got them dressed again, and out to the front porch for Halloween porch picture session #2. Missing: their walking sticks, which were already in the car. We were in a hurry at this moment, so we just went with it. We let them hold each of their little pumpkins, in hopes that it would distract them for a minute or two, but we had to deal with their favorite game of "throw the pumpkin" so there was a lot of picking up pumpkins, telling them not to throw them, and taking pictures as fast as possible. As is always the case, I was sweating. Ha!

Our neighborhood did a little costume contest at the playground area, so we hustled down there so that we wouldn't be late (which we were, but we weren't the only late ones!).
*Note: for some reason, my camera was on a different picture mode, and I didn't realize it at the time, so these pictures are not great, re: blurry. Sorry. :(

So the boys won in the costume contest! I think they get extra points due to the novelty of three, wink, wink. :) They got a new teddy bear and a $5 Chick Fil A gift card! Woo hoo! After the costume contest was over, we loaded back up and headed home.

Trick-or-treat time! |
Once we got home, we did Halloween porch picture session #3. I guess I kept hoping that out of all of these pictures, maybe ONE would turn out. Wishful thinking! Thomas is a good sport to keep helping me and masking his eye rolls! ;)
Once we got the boys back in the house, we had to check in on the Clemson game*, get the little guys settled down and pass out candy. We had scary music playing and got a decent number of kids that came by. We opted to not take the boys trick-or-treating yet. I think they're still a little young and we weren't planning to give them any candy this year, except for just a few little treats. Maybe we'll take them trick-or-treating next year... (and I'm pretty sure I said that last year haha). Stokes and William liked coming to the door with me to pass out candy though. I think they actually tried to leave with the trick-or-treaters a few times. If they had succeeded, that would have made Halloween a little too scary!
2015 was a fun and happy Halloween! Now I need to start thinking about next year's costumes.... ;)
*The Clemson game started at 3:30 and the costume contest started at 6. We fed the boys dinner around 5, then got them cleaned up, dressed and loaded in the car and went to the contest. We got home around 6:45 and then were back and forth to the front door to pass out candy. You know you love your kids when you miss the majority of the game due to Halloween festivities! Thank goodness for DVR....now if only we could find a few hours to sit down and watch it uninterrupted! We're not holding our breath!
